Eficacia del sellado apical con la técnica termomecánica y condensación lateral fría en presencia de instrumentos fracturados.

Abstract

Objetivo: Comparar la eficacia del sellado apical con las técnicas termomecánica y condensación lateral fría en presencia de instrumentos fracturados en el tercio apical de dientes unirradiculares. Materiales y métodos: estudio transversal in vitro donde se utilizaron 30 dientes uniradiculares sometidos a fractura intencional de limas K #25 a 3 mm del foramen apical, se dividieron en 2 grupos de 15 dientes cada uno; un grupo sometido a técnica de condensación lateral fría y el otro a técnica termomecánica (McSpadden). las muestras permanecieron 48 horas en incubadora a temperatura de 37 grados centígrados. se realizó una inmersión en azul de metileno por 48 horas para un posterior centrifugado y se diafanizó las muestras para la observación en estereomicroscopio de la posible microfiltración. Resultados: se evidenció que al comparar las técnicas termomecánica (McSpadden) con la técnica lateral fría en presencia de un instrumento fracturado en el tercio apical no existe una diferencia estadísticamente significativa con valor de P>0,05. Conclusiones: la técnica de compactación lateral fría mostró mejores resultados frente a la técnica termomecánica en presencia de instrumentos fracturados en el tercio apical de dientes uniradiculares, con un promedio de microfiltración de 2,74mm, sin embargo, no se encontraron diferencias estadísticamente significativas entre ambas técnicas.

Objective: To compare the effectiveness of the apical seal with thermomechanical techniques and cold lateral condensation in the presence of fractured instruments in the apical third of uniradicular teeth. Materials and methods: an in vitro cross-sectional study in which 30 uniradicular teeth subjected to intentional fracture of limbs K # 25 to 3 mm of the apical foramen were used, the sample was divided into 2 groups of 15 teeth each; one group subjected to cold lateral condensation technique and the other to thermomechanical technique (McSpadden). The samples remained 48 hours in an incubator at a temperature of 37 degrees centigrade. A dipping in methylene blue was carried out for 48 hours for a subsequent centrifugation and the samples were diaphanized for observation in the stereomicroscope for possible microfiltration. Results: it was evidenced that when comparing the thermomechanical techniques (McSpadden) with the cold lateral technique in the presence of a fractured instrument in the apical third there is no statistically significant difference with a value of P>0.05. Conclusions: the cold lateral compaction technique showed better results compared to the thermomechanical technique in the presence of fractured instruments in the apical third of uniradicular teeth, with an average microfiltration of 2.74 mm; however, no statistically significant differences were found between both techniques.
